  1. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the liquid ingredients:
  3. the melted butter
  4. the egg
  5. Add the sugar at this stage as well (even though it’s not liquid) so it dissolves better while mixing.
  6. Add the dry ingredients:
  7. oat flour
  8. baking powder
  9. a pinch of salt
  10. orange zest
  11. In another bowl, squeeze the juice of one orange and mix it with one tablespoon of honey.
  12. Then add this liquid mixture to the bowl with the other ingredients and mix until you get a smooth, even dough.
  13. Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes so it firms up and becomes easier to work with.

👉 Optional tip:

If you want extra texture and flavor, you can add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough before refrigerating.

⭐Shape the Cookies

p2.png
  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Place the dough between two sheets of plastic and roll it out — it keeps things clean and prevents sticking.
  3. Roll to about 5 mm thickness.
  4. Cut out the cookies and place them on the tray, leaving a little space between them.

📌 These cookies won’t expand much while baking.

Tip: This step is perfect for getting the little ones at home involved! Kids love helping with rolling and cutting cookie shapes.

⭐Bake

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C / 350 °F.
  2. Bake for about 25 minutes.
  3. Check them occasionally — baking time may vary depending on your oven or climate.
  4. They’re ready when they feel firm to the touch.
  5. Let them cool and set aside.

⭐Make the Chocolate Ganache

  1. Heat the heavy cream with the sugar over medium heat (do not boil).
  2. Add the butter and stir until fully melted.
  3. Place the chopped chocolate in a bowl and pour the hot cream mixture over it.
  4. Stir gently until smooth and glossy.
  5. Let cool, then cover and refrigerate until thickened.

⭐Decoration & Assembly

These cookies are delicious on their own — but you can take them to the next level!

Fill them with chocolate ganache to make sweet sandwich cookies,

or, for a lighter option, fill them with cream cheese — it pairs beautifully with the orange flavor.

Get creative with shapes, fillings and decorations.

It’s also a wonderful activity to enjoy with kids!

💡 Tips

  1. For softer cookies, bake a little less.
  2. Ganache thickens as it chills.
  3. Store in an airtight container.
