Bright and Visible Tail Lights for Foggy Days

Ever felt unsafe while riding out cross country afraid that the driver behind you maynot be able to see you there and might ram into you... even more during foggy days when visibility becomes a massive issue to be tackled?

This design is to make an auxiliary light attachement on your motorbike. I did the fittings on my luggage compartment.

The materials that you will require

• LED strip - red
• wire cable
• soldering iron; for soldering the wires to the LED strips
• cable connector
• screw driver; for fixing the cables in the connector
• glue gun; for water proofing and gluing the LED strip to the body
• electric tape; for taping wires
• Drill; for drilling holes to pass the cables
• 12V DC adapter; for testing the lights

Since I set up tail and brake lights in the luggage box, I needed connectors for 3 cables:

• +ve of Brake light
• +ve of tail light
• -ve of both brake and tail lights

Clean the surface from any sort of dust and muck that might have settled on it before attempting to mount the lights.

Then cut the LED strips and mount them in the fashion required. Solder the wires to the terminals of the LED strips.

Join the -ve terminals of the LED strips together, solder and tape wherever necessary.

Identify the Brake lights and the Tail lights and join their respective +ve cables together so that there are only 2 open wires extending out.

using the 12V DC adaptor, check whether the lights are working.

I drilled holes for the 3 wires to pass them into the box after I was satisfied the lights and their connections were in order.

Inside the box, as it might have to be removed or the lights need to be replaced, I fixed the cable connectors in sets of three, fixed in position with hot glue.

Once the circuits are in order and they are complete, waterproof them with Hot glue. Make sure to get the cables as well as the electrical fixtures of the light strip.

place the reflectors back on, use screws wherever required. Hot glue the openings to further waterproof the openings on the rig.

Connect the respective cables in the sockets of those respective lights and your ready to go!!!!
