Step 2: Constructing the Side Walls

You will need to build two side walls (right and left) in exactly the same dimensions.

1. First, assemble the inner frame using 3"x2" lumber, and then join the carrier posts in position.
2. Attach the 18 mm OSB plate (36" x 29-1/8") to the inside of the wall frame.
3. Cover the exterior with 1/4" x 3.5" Cedar Boards.

Step 3: Cutting and Preparing the Front and Back Walls

1. Back Wall: Build the frame using 1"x2" lumber, following the 120° and 60° angles that will form the roof pitch. Cover the inside with OSB and the outside with cedar boards, just like the side walls.
2. Front Wall: The front wall matches the shape and angles of the back wall, but you need to leave an entrance door gap. The door opening should be 16" wide and 20" high. Frame the entrance using 1/2" x 1-1/2" and 1/2" x 2" lumber to support the door opening.

Step 4: Assembling the Walls (Merger)

Now it is time to connect the walls to the base.

1. Create the roof rafters using 1" x 3" lumber, cutting the ends at 60° and 120° angles so they match the exact pitch of the front and back walls. Secure them tightly at the top of the supporting posts.

Step 6: Roof Insulation, Shingles, and Final Touches

Final steps to make the dog house waterproof and visually appealing:

1. Insulation: Apply multipurpose insulation seam tape straight down the ridge where the two OSB roof panels meet to prevent any water leakage.
2. Shingles: Carefully cover the entire surface of the OSB roof panels with overlapping roof shingles.
3. Trim Elements: Attach the 1"x3" and 1/2"x4" wooden trim pieces to the front and back edges of the roof.
