If the horse wins second place, they get place and show collection. Then if the horse acquires third position they get show collection. There is another betting which is similar to across the board. This is called win- place, place- show. In this straight wagers will be bet in a single betting. In Win- place bet a person will be betting on a horse to win and place. If the horse wins, the person who has bet will get both win and place money. If the horse finishes the race second, then they collect just the place collection money. Then coming to place-show betting, the person will be betting on a particular horse for its place and show. If the horse comes in second place, then the person gets both place and show collection. Like; if the horse does not come second and it finishes in third place then the person who has placed the bet will get only show money. As this kind of betting is multiple wagers this is expensive. The horse will have single bet, win-place and place- show betting on it. Coming to exotic wagers, the person will be allowed to bet on multiple horses in a single bet. This will help a person to increase the profit. But, these are difficult to win and are really expensive.

There are also types in these exotic wagers. Exacta is a kind of betting where the person will bet on two horses to come in first and second. That is the person will get the exact order of arrival of the horses. This kind of betting is popular when the person is expert in selecting horses. The payoff for this betting will be really profitable. There is also Box exacta, where one horse can be selected and bet in order and the person win if the horse wins the race in that order. But boxing is costly and is twice the betting of straight exacta.
