I created a desk clutter organizer to help keep stationery and tools organized and easily accessible. The product includes multiple compartments of different sizes to separate items and reduce mess on a workspace. I designed it to be stable, compact, and practical for everyday use.

Supplies

MDF or thick cardboard

Wood glue / strong adhesive

Adobe Illustrator (for digital design and joints)

Laser cutter

Ruler and pencil

Sandpaper (optional)

Paint (blue, green, yellow accents – optional)

Identify the Problem

Desk clutter makes tools and stationery hard to find and reduces workspace efficiency. The goal is to create a compact organizer with separate compartments for different items.

Digital Design

  1. Design all panels in Adobe Illustrator
  2. Add joints to ensure accurate alignment and strong connections
  3. Label each piece clearly for assembly

Laser Cut

  1. Export the Illustrator file correctly for laser cutting
  2. Laser cut all panels using the selected material
  3. Check that joints fit together before assembly

Asembly

  1. Dry-fit all pieces first to ensure accuracy
  2. Glue panels together, starting with the base and vertical supports
  3. Allow time for the adhesive to fully dry

Finishing Up

  1. Sand edges lightly if needed
  2. Paint the organizer:
  3. Blue for the main body (focus & calm)

Final Use

  1. Place tools, stationery, and papers into their designated compartments
  2. Test stability and accessibility
