Clutter Control 2 Level Storage Compartment
I created a desk clutter organizer to help keep stationery and tools organized and easily accessible. The product includes multiple compartments of different sizes to separate items and reduce mess on a workspace. I designed it to be stable, compact, and practical for everyday use.
Supplies
MDF or thick cardboard
Wood glue / strong adhesive
Adobe Illustrator (for digital design and joints)
Laser cutter
Ruler and pencil
Sandpaper (optional)
Paint (blue, green, yellow accents – optional)
Identify the Problem
Desk clutter makes tools and stationery hard to find and reduces workspace efficiency. The goal is to create a compact organizer with separate compartments for different items.
Digital Design
- Design all panels in Adobe Illustrator
- Add joints to ensure accurate alignment and strong connections
- Label each piece clearly for assembly
Laser Cut
- Export the Illustrator file correctly for laser cutting
- Laser cut all panels using the selected material
- Check that joints fit together before assembly
Asembly
- Dry-fit all pieces first to ensure accuracy
- Glue panels together, starting with the base and vertical supports
- Allow time for the adhesive to fully dry
Finishing Up
- Sand edges lightly if needed
- Paint the organizer:
- Blue for the main body (focus & calm)
Final Use
- Place tools, stationery, and papers into their designated compartments
- Test stability and accessibility
