Did you just find out that the architecture project you’ve been working on for weeks was a colossal failure?

Well that's great news!!

Because now, you can give up on your dreams and spend all your time scrolling on reels!

And, with our new invention, you don't even have to take a break to look up.

Introducing, this new high tech device that we call the DOOMSCROLLER 3000 conveniently attaches to your phone, and employs ultrasonic sensing technology to alert you of danger ahead, using bright red led lights and a harsh buzzing alarm, all without ever needing to take your eyes of their screen.

With our help, you too can focus more deeply on the important task at hand: pumping up that screen time!

Now you can take your scrolling beyond the seated position!

Just think of the possibilities!

Walking to class,

Playing basketball,

In a conga line,

Even while crossing the street!

Don't let the outside world limit your screen time. Scroll ANYWHERE ANYTIME with the DOOMSCROLLER3000!

Reach Rock Bottom

To fully commit to the DOOMSCROLLER 3000, you must first reach rock bottom. To do this, you must spend hours of your time working toward a complex project that will fail before the deadline.

Conceptualize

After realizing that you lack the time and resources to complete the first project, scrap everything and commit to a new idea. This involves hours of a haze of stress consisting of circling around inferior ideas, and wishing you could be doomscrolling instead. EUREKA! Inspiration strikes as you realize you need to develop an efficient way to spend more of your time scrolling on reels.

Circuit Experimentation

Starting over in tinkercad you erase everything you used to have, and open a clean slate.

Import ultrasonic sensors as the input for the project, which will measure distance and relay values to the arduino.

Import the necessary actuators as outputs, using the LEDs and buzzers.

The following code will coordinate these two to relay danger level, mapping proximity to blink speed and buzzer intensity.

Attachment

Now with a working circuit, you need a way to attach it to your phone. This can be achieved by precisely mounting the circuit board to the back of the phone case, whole routing the crucial sensors and actuators through a foam core base plate.

Outcomes + Next Steps

Voila! Now you have a fully functioning DOOMSCROLLER 3000!

You may be wondering how you can take this project and improve it going forward. Our team is currently working on developing the DOOMSCROLLER3001, which would bring updates.

Firstly, we would experiment with feeding our sensors into a spectrum of RGB LEDs allowing users to better optimize their rerouted path. Lights could display a color hierarchy which corresponds with traffic and danger level.

Secondly, we would improve upon the current attachment design to slot directly into a proprietary phone case (that we would also sell for immense profit).
