You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 6 + 1 Chain for the turning chain.
Round 2:-
2 Double Crochets in the 4th Chain from the hook.(This would make total 3 Double Crochets including the Turning Chain.
Skip 2 Stitches.
1 Single Crochet.
Skip 2 Stitches.
4 Double Crochets.
Skip 2.
1 Single Crochet.
Skip 2.
Repeat(4DC,Sk2,1SC,Sk2)
You should be able end with 1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the turning chain.
Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
- Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
- This will make one Double Crochet.
Round 3:-
1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain.
2 Double Crochets in the same stitch i.e the 1st stitch(that's total 3 Double Crochets made).
Skip 2 Stitches.
1 Single Crochet in-between the 2nd and the 3rd stitch.(remember to make the stitch in- between the two stitches instead of into the stitch)
Skip 2 stitches.
4 Double Crochets in the next Single Crochet from the previous round.
Skip 2
Repeat(1SC in between 2nd & 3rd St,Sk2,4DC in the next SC,Sk2)
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method mentioned in the previous round to make the turning chain.
Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 untill the size needed or untill its Square in shape.
Once you reach the size needed Chain 1 and turn your work.
Border:-
3 Single Crochets in the 1st Stitch - this will make the 1st Corner.
1 Single Crochet in each of the Double Crochets
Skip the Single Crochet.
Repeat (1SC into each of the remaining stitches, 3 SCs in each of Corner sts)
Once you reach the end, Slip Stitch on top of the 1st Single Crochet and Weave off.
