Folding Chair
I made this folding chair because my sister does a lot of sports. I mean a lot! When I go to her cross country meets I always want to sit down and I had wished I brought a chair. When I do bring a chair it is so heavy that I get tired fast. The folding ones are too expensive and I love building stuff so I was up for the challenge. Note: I didn't make the chair yet. I only built the model and instructions to, I plan to build this chair. I can't afford it right now.
Supplies
You will need
-A program like Blender or Autocad
-A table saw
-Screws
-A drill
-Wood
-Door hinges
-A 3D Printer
-A Chisel
-A door latch
Build the 3D Model
In order to make the actual folding chair you will need to make a 3D model of it. Lucky for you I already made an animated 3D model and I made a video of it. I also made the specialized locking mechanism for this chair. I will put both of the files below. I recommend if you make your own model to color it.

Cutting the Wood
First, cut the wood to your preference. Cut the legs 4x4x24 inch, they should be looking like a cube now. Then cut the seat (a square) to 30x30x2 inch. Then cut the back plate to 26x30x2 inch. Then cut the guard to 30x26x2 inch. You will need to chisel out 2 3x24x1 inch spots for the supports to go on. Then cut out 2.83x24x1 inch wood boards for the supports. You will also have to print the specialized locking mechanisms to scale.
Build the Chair
I recommend with building the seat first. This is an easy chair to build so it doesn't really matter which you build first, I just recommend the seat. Start by screwing the back plate to the seat by screwing it fro the bottom so you're not sitting on nails. Then screw the supports into the chiseled sides. After the sides then screw in the hinges to the legs. Make sure the hinges agree with the way that the legs are supposed to fold. after that you can screw the guard onto one of the legs. Then yo can put the latch on the guard where you want it to stay closed when you are transporting it. If you want you can also put a carrying strap on it.
Finish!
Yay! You've finished! Now you have an awesome folding chair!
