Gluten and Dairy Free Halloween Cookies!

These cookies are simple, fun, and perfect for anyone looking for an easy gluten-free treat!

Supplies

Gather the following ingredients and tools before you start:

  1. Coconut oil
  2. Olive oil
  3. Sugar (⅔ cup)
  4. Powdered sugar (⅔ cup)
  5. Two eggs
  6. Vanilla extract
  7. Gluten-free flour
  8. Baking soda
  9. Cream of tartar
  10. Salt
  11. Parchment paper
  12. Cookie cutters (or a knife for shaping)
  13. Food coloring (optional)

Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine coconut oil, olive oil, sugar, powdered sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well until smooth. Don’t worry if it doesn’t look perfect—texture will improve later.

Add Dry Ingredients

Add gluten-free flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Mix with your hands until the dough has a good texture.

Flatten the Dough

Place a generous amount of dough on parchment paper. Cover with another sheet and flatten evenly.

Shape the Cookies

Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes. If you don’t have cutters, a knife works too!

Bake

Remove excess dough around the shapes. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake cookies for 8–10 minutes.

Make Frosting

While cookies bake, prepare a simple frosting. Combine milk and sugar. (For dairy-free, use rice milk or another alternative.)

Add Powdered Sugar

Add powdered sugar to the mix—adjust based on how much frosting you need.

Mix

Slowly add milk a little at a time while mixing until you reach a smooth frosting consistency.

Cool Cookies

Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool.

Decorate

Add food coloring to your frosting for vibrant colors. Decorate your cookies and enjoy! If you have extra dough, repeat from Step 3.
