DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. This protocol is used with TCP/IP at the "Application Layer "of any network and assigns IP addresses to the systems in the network. These IP addresses can change as the word says "dynamic ".

A D-Link router can be configured in a way to use this DHCP with few settings in the configuration page of router.
1. Connect the router properly to the system and open the Settings page in the system.

2. Go to the" DHPC Server Settings ".

3. Check the check box against "Enable DHCP Server ".

4. The range of IP addresses will be there by default. User can change according to his requirement.

5. User can also change the by default Lease time.

6. In the DHCP reservation setting, check the check box "Enable " and provide the "Computer name ".

7. Finally click on "Save Settings ".
