Marble Cookies - a Perfect Duo in Every Bite
Marble Cookies are a delightful blend of two classics — buttery vanilla dough and rich cocoa dough — brought together in a beautiful swirl. Inspired by the natural marble patterns, these cookies are all about contrast: light and dark, mild and chocolatey, simple yet special.
What makes Marble Cookies truly fun is that no two cookies ever look the same. Each swirl is created by hand, making every cookie unique and full of character. They are soft in the centre, lightly crisp at the edges, and perfectly balanced in flavour.
This recipe is simple, playful, and creative, making it perfect for beginners and experienced bakers alike. If you can roll dough with your hands, you can make marble cookies! And the best part? You never have to choose between vanilla or chocolate — you get both in every single bite.
Supplies
Ingredients & Other Supplies
Refined Wheat Flour - 2 Cup
Butter - 1 Cup
Sugar Powder - 1 Cup
Cocoa powder - 1/2 Cup
Vanilla Essence
Bowl, Whisk, Baking Tray, Parchment/Butter Paper
Prepare the Base Dough
Before starting, measure all ingredients and keep the butter at room temperature. This makes mixing easier and smoother.
In a large bowl, add butter and sugar. Whisk well in one direction until the mixture becomes light, creamy, and fluffy.
Add Flour & Vanilla
Add a few drops of vanilla extract and mix gently to enhance the flavour of the butter dough. Slowly add refined wheat flour, mixing little by little until a soft, smooth dough forms.
Divide the Dough
Divide the dough into two equal portions.
- One portion stays plain (white butter dough)
- The other will become chocolate dough
Add cocoa powder to one portion and mix well until the colour is even and rich.
Let both doughs rest for 5–10 minutes. This makes shaping easier.
Roll Dough Balls
From each dough, roll small equal-sized balls using your palms.
Take three white dough balls and three cocoa dough balls.
Place them together in a circular formation, alternating colours.
Swirl & Shape the Dough
Gently roll and twist the dough using both hands, just enough to combine them into one ball with visible swirls. Do not overmix.
Lightly flatten the swirled dough ball with your palm to form a cookie shape.
Prepare for Baking
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the cookies on the tray, leaving space between each one.
Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
Cool the Cookies & Enjoy
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on a rack until they firm up.
Your Marble Cookies are ready — beautifully swirled, double-flavoured, and totally irresistible.
One cookie, two flavours… and zero regrets! 😄🍪
