Orthopedic Training Kit – Young Innovator 25–26
This Orthopedic Training kit is designed to be realistic and function the same as an actual Orthopedic kit for about 1/60th the cost. Many people are not able to pursue orthopedics because of the cost. We overcome this by enabling orthopedics to be able to have a kit to practice and learn with for cheap.
Supplies
- Roughly 50 grams of white PLA
- About 130 grams of TPU (preferably skin color)
- 2 containers of red or pink Play-doh (color optional)
- Super Glue
- (OPTIONAL) Silver spray paint to paint the scalpel
- (OPTIONAL) Skin color spray paint to paint the model arm (if you don't have skin color TPU)
Get the White PLA Files Ready and Print Them
Download the STL file labeled "Young Innovator Bone Models PLA" and print everything in white PLA.

Get the TPU Files Ready and Print Them
Now download the STL file labeled "Young Innovator Bone Models TPU" and print everything in your TPU. NOTE: After printing the two pieces, you will have to sandwich the top of the 2 prints and glue them.

Painting Time! (OPTIONAL)
Paint the top of the scalpel silver, and the entire TPU model arm skin color, if you did not use skin color TPU.
Play-doh
Put the bone inside the TPU file. After that, insert the play-doh, so it fits nicely.
Practice!
Use the scalpel provided and cut through the play-doh, exposing the bone. Once exposed, screw the brace into the bone, while the bone is still inside the TPU file. Once done, put the play-doh back and repeat, until perfection (not touching any of the play-doh and the bone).
