Supplies
Cookie Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose Flour
- 3/4 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Softened Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp. Almond Extract
Decorating Supplies:
- White Icing / chocolate
- Red Icing / chocolate
- M&Ms, for the nose
- Eye Sprinkles
Mix & Combine Your Dry Ingredients With Your Wet Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt together.
- In a separate bowl, mix butter and sugar until it's light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, almond extract & vanilla extract until it's fully mixed in with the butter.
- Using a spatula, pour in the flour mixture and blend it in with the butter mixture.
- Mix until the mixture becomes a dough-like consistency.
Refrigerate the Dough & Preheat Oven
- Once the dough is fully mixed, set the bowl of dough aside, into the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
Shape the Cookies
- Take the bowl of dough out of the refrigerator, and roll out the dough until it's about 1/8-inches thick.
- Sprinkle a little bit of flour on top of the dough and using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into as many pieces as it can fit.
- On a baking sheet, place the cookies about 1 inch apart.
Bake Your Cookies
- Bake the cookies in the oven until the edges are golden, for 10 to 13 minutes.
- Once you take the cookies out of the oven, make sure to let them cool before decorating them!
Frost the Cookies
- Add a thin, even layer of white frosting on half the cookie.
- Then add another thin, even layer of red frosting on the other half of the cookie.
- Let the frosting cool.
Add a Face
- Add two eye sprinkles for the eyes.
- Add a red M&M for the nose.
Enjoy!
